PRAYER POWER

Image
A voyaging ship was wrecked during a storm at sea and only two of the men on it were able to swim to a small, desert like island. The two survivors, not knowing what else to do, agreed that they had no other recourse but to pray to God. However, to find out whose prayer was more powerful, they agreed to divide the territory between them and stay on opposite sides of the island. The first thing they prayed for was food. The next morning, the first man saw a fruit-bearing tree on his side of the land, and he was able to eat its fruit. The other man's parcel of land remained barren. After a week, the first man was lonely and he decided to pray for a wife. The next day, another ship was wrecked, and the only survivor was a woman who swam to his side of the land.On the other side of the island, there was nothing! . Soon the first man prayed for a house, clothes, more food. The next day, like magic, all of these were given to him. However, the second man still had nothing. Finally, the fi

God & Science

- A very interesting conversation An Atheist Professor of Philosophy was speaking to his Class on the Problem Science has with GOD, the ALMIGHTY. He asked one of his New Christian Students to stand and . . . Professor : You are a Christian, aren't you, son ? Student : Yes, sir. Professor : So, you Believe in GOD ? Student : Absolutely, sir. Professor : Is GOD Good ? Student : Sure. Professor : Is GOD ALL - POWERFUL ? Student : Yes. Professor : My Brother died of Cancer even though he Prayed to GOD to Heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But GOD didn't. How is this GOD good then? Hmm? (Student was silent ) Professor : You can't answer, can you ? Let's start again, Young Fella. Is GOD Good? Student : Yes. Professor : Is Satan good ? Student : No. Professor : Where does Satan come from ? Student : >From . . . G

CROSS

These are the pics of Guilda Ayoub, a 16-year-old girl from 'Imar' village situated near Zgharta, North Lebanon. Guilda watched the film of 'Passion of the Christ ' on Good Friday on 06/04/2007,and before she went to sleep she was telling her mum that she doesn't believe that Jesus has passed through all that pain. That night she dreamt of having a cross on her hand but the next day she woke up and did not have anything on her hand. She went to school and as she was telling her friend about it, she felt something pulling her hand backwards and putting it on the wall behind her. Her hand was stuck on the wall and no one could take it off.. After a while when she took off her hand,a cross was printed on her hand with a wound in the middle as if there was a nail taken out of her. Blood tests were done for her and the blood that was coming out of her hand has no blood group. Also there was oil on her hand.. Saint Charbel has talked to her many times and he was giving her

How To Do The Impossible Everyday

“Life often faces us with challenges. Sometimes they overwhelm you, and you don't feel capable of victory…” The battle between David and Goliath is renown. The Bible opens the story in a valley where two armies face and taunt each other. Emerging from the encampment of the Philistines is Goliath. He is nearly 15 feet tall, broad as a dump truck at the shoulders. His shield and sword is to heavy for men to handle, so they are drawn on a flat cart by a team of snorting horses. Goliath surveys the army of Israel and growls angrily. "Send me a man who is your champion. Come, let us fight and I shall kill you like a mangy dog!" Fear sank deeper into the hearts & bodies of the Israeli soldiers. A huge shadow cast itself across the valley floor, it appeared ominous and foreboding. High on a ridge cresting the valley stood Goliath, Lord of Chaos and Destruction. He towered like a skyscraper against the sunlit sky, his frame blocking the powerful illuminating rays. No one step

7 Reasons Not To Mess With Children

Image
A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales. The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small. The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale. Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible. The little girl said, 'When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah'. The teacher asked, 'What if Jonah went to hell?' The little girl replied, 'Then you ask him'. A Kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children while they were drawing. She would occasionally walk around to see each child's work. As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was. The girl replied, 'I'm drawing God.' The teacher paused and said, 'But no one knows what God looks like.' Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing, the girl replied, 'T

the sum of parts...

17 days after the publication of Express regarding our fellow Filipinos who were victims of "illegal recruitment", the Filipinos' BAYANIHAN was felt all over the UAE... Letters circulated within the Pinoy communities - office by office, friends of friends, churches and different religious and non-religious organizations... in less than a week, these people were able to gather monetary donations, collected goods and organized the mission of helping these innocent Kabayans in the nearby Emirate, Ajman. 11 April 2009 - Black Saturday. The group organized by Aileen and Jet headed to Hamriya Free Zone, Ajman to visit these 137 Kabayans...we were individuals, and not identified by any group/organization, some are families... others are friends. to sum it all, there were 9 cars that pulled together with common goal. not just to give food but to let them know that there are a lot of kabayans here who cares for them and are willing to support them in this plight. before lunch time

Amazing Reality

Jesus died over 2000 years ago. Nobody has ever referred to him as the late Jesus, not even the heathens. Nowhere in history. Nowhere has he EVER been referred to in past tense! He is the Living God!

The Smallest SnowflakES

Christiana was the smallest of all the snowflakes. It seemed she and her family, along with many other snowflake families, had been floating always through the long day as she tumbled delightfully about with her friends. But their journey took them as well through seemingly endless freezing cold and darkness. Sometimes the north wind blew them along their way so hard she could scarcely breathe. At these times, as much as the bracing wind would permit, Christiana huddled close to her parents, Celeste and Chaucer, completely unaware that they were as uncomfortable as she. At other times they were assailed by a gust of warmer air up in the atmosphere that threatened their very lives. Afraid, the little crystalline beauty would bow her minuscule head and cry. Celeste and Chaucer tried to shield and protect their little progeny as best they could. Sometimes however, it was all they could do to hold on themselves. The beloved but naive little snowflake was oblivious to everything but observa

The sum of parts is a big difference

Dear Kabayans, Maybe many of you have read the article at XPress ( http://www.xpress4me.com/articles/09/04/01/20012707.html ) regarding the 137 Filipino victims from the 2 recruitment agencies who apparently hired them as drivers for RTA. It is with great sadness that these Filipinos have only dreamt of greener pasture for their family and they have been victimized. We are writing on behalf of them and reaching out to all Filipinos who may be able to extend help to our fellow kabayan's who are in need. They are currently staying at a flat in Ajman near a dumpsite, where they collect tin cans from garbage which they sell in order for them to survive the day. We therefore seek for your help by giving them food, water or medicines as this would assist them to continue to fight and survive the painful ordeal they are experiencing. We would be driving in Ajman on Saturday, 11th April 2009 at 9am, to give whatever donations we have collected. For those who want to join, you may coordinat

The Bull and the Bear

Once upon a time there lived a bear in a cave deep in the woods. Nearby was a meadow in which a farmer kept his cattle -- and one large, ferocious-looking bull. Each day the bear hid at the edge of the woods, watching the bull. The bear was known as the strongest, most fierce creature for miles around. No other beast in the forest dared to tangle with him. As the bear watched the bull peacefully gazing, he wondered which one of them would win a test of strength. He thought about this for many days. Then one morning he decided to challenge the bull to a fight to the finish. The bull had just chomped down on a fresh clump of clover when he looked up and saw the bear barreling across the meadow toward him. He stopped chewing. The red flag of danger popped up in his head. The bear skidded to a halt in front of him. The bull lowered his head menacingly, his sharp horns aimed right for the bear's throat. For long moments they stood in place -- eyeball to eyeball -- neither one of them mo

Seven (7) Tips for Finding Happiness

Make a Celebratory Visit This is a special visit that celebrates what someone else means to you and what they have given to you. It is a joyous form of gratitude, which has been proven in studies to boost mood and health. First, sit down and write a thank-you letter to someone for whom you feel deep love and gratitude. Describe their qualities, such as courage, loyalty, kindness, wit, persistence. Then visit that person, and read your heartfelt description. Celebrate with them the miracle of their life and their presence in yours. Look at the Big Picture Remember that you are an essential part of a very alive universe--no matter how tough your day or week or year might be. You are part of the greater whole, the weave of life and all of humanity. You can remind yourself of that feeling by looking up at the night sky, or going to a religious service where everybody joins hands and sings, or even volunteering at an animal shelter. Your life has ups and downs but embrace the large scale

NINE WORDS WOMEN USE

(1) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up. (2) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house. (3) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine. (4) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It! (5) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement of ten misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.) (6) That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will

NEW School Prayer

NEW School Prayer Now I sit me down in school Where praying is against the rule For this great nation under God Finds mention of Him very odd. If Scripture now the class recites, It violates the Bill of Rights. And anytime my head I bow Becomes a Federal matter now. Our hair can be purple, orange or green, That's no offense; it's a freedom scene. The law is specific, the law is precise. Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice. For praying in a public hall Might offend someone with no faith at all. In silence alone we must meditate, God's name is prohibited by the state. We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks, And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.. They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible. To quote the Good Book makes me liable. We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen, A nd the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King. It's 'inappropriate' to teach right from wrong, We're taught that such 'judgments' do not belong. We

Tea Cup Story

‘' I want you to remember, then,' he said, 'I know it hurt to be rolled and pounded and patted, but had I just left you alone, you'd have dried up. I know it made you dizzy to spin around on the wheel, but if I had stopped, you would have crumbled. I know it hurt and it was hot and disagreeable in the oven, but if I hadn't put you there, you would have cracked. I know the fumes were bad when I brushed and painted you all over, but if I hadn't done that, you never would have hardened. You would not have had any color in your life. If I hadn't put you back in that second oven, you wouldn't have survived for long because the hardness would not have held. Now you are a finished product. Now you are what I had in mind when I first began with you." There was a couple who took a trip to England to shop in a beautiful antique store to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. They both liked antiques and pottery, and especially teacups. Spotting an e

The Fast Food Faith

“I tried to lean on God and to hand him my worries, but most of the time I took them back again. I ran into God's arms when things were hard, but it was difficult to remain there when everything stayed the same. Maybe, I thought, I really only had a fast food faith. Maybe I expected drive-in window solutions, with answers to my prayers all neatly wrapped and no waiting. …” Too many times I had sat that same way - shoulders slouched, head in my hands, wearing despair like an old, familiar blanket. When you don't have enough money, all you can think of is money; how much you have, how far it will go, how many days until your next paycheck. The money litany becomes a leaky faucet of thoughts, a constant dripping of worry and stress. I sighed deeply, and sat up. It wasn't as though I wasn't trying. I did everything possible to provide for my two children. However, unlike my parents and siblings I had not graduated college, and finding a decent paying job without a degree ha
