A Mirror or a 2-Way Glass?
How can you tell when you are in a room, restroom, motel etc. with a mirror or a 2-way glass?
Here's how: I thought it was quite interesting! And I know in about 30 seconds you're going to do what I did and find the nearest mirror.
Do you know how to determine if a mirror is 2-way or not? A policewoman who travels all over the US and gives seminars and techniques for businesswomen passed this on.
When we visit toilets, bathrooms, hotel rooms, changing rooms, etc., how many of you know for sure that the seemingly ordinary mirror hanging on the wall is a real mirror, or actually a 2-way mirror (i.e. they can see you, but you can't see them)? There have been many cases of people installing 2-way mirrors in female changing rooms. It is very difficult to positively identify the surface by looking at it.
So, how do we determine with any amount of certainty what type of mirror we are looking at?
Just conduct this simple test: Place the tip of your fingernail against the reflective surface and if there is a GAP between your fingernail and the image of the nail, then it is GENUINE mirror.
REMEMBER. No Space, Leave the Place:
Ladies: Share this with your girlfriends, sisters, daughters, etc.
Men: Share this with your wives, daughters, daughters-in-law, mothers, girlfriends and/or friends.

UNCOATED SIDE / GENUINE MIRROR - gap between finger and reflection
However, if your fingernail DIRECTLY TOUCHES - NO GAP the image of your nail, then BEWARE! IT IS A 2-WAY MIRROR!
COATED SIDE / 2 WAY - no gap between finger and reflection
"No Space, Leave the Place"
So remember, every time you see a mirror, do the "fingernail test." It doesn't cost you anything.

Yes because this only effects women.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the previous anon. Men need to be aware as well, and all children male and female.
ReplyDeleteThey could just as easily put a clear coat of plastic or glass on the face of a fake mirror to make even a tiny gap. Such a simple "test" to get around. Lets think like adults in a modern age here, people.
ReplyDeleteTrue, but then if you looked in the corners, you would be able to see it. plus, if it is a fake 2-way, thats better than a real 2-way. thinking like adults, yes. but really???
DeleteI never knew this, very cool.
ReplyDeleteHI Kristin!
DeleteCool indeed! Appreciate if you could share to your friends too... let's keep them informed :)

What about cupping your hands around your eyes & looking into the glass with your hands blocking out room light. It has worked for me before; you can see the other room!
ReplyDeleteWhat did you see in the other room?
DeleteGene Hackman and Clint Eastwood getting it on.
DeleteThanks for sharing this with us!
ReplyDeleteWelcome Deborah!
DeleteShare it to your friends too...
God bless!

the gap you see with this test is because a normal mirror has its reflective surface on the back of the mirror whereas a 1 way mirror has it on the front. the gap size is the thickness of the glass.
ReplyDeleteActually, I believe the gap size will be DOUBLE the glass thickness, the glass thickness plus its reflected image.
Deletewow
ReplyDeleteWell cameras are so small now it could be a nail hole the pervert hides the camera behind or a clock a picture so I mean if your scared of a perv seeing you naked never get undressed or do it in a costume like the karate kid did you know the shower one
ReplyDeleteNot 100% true. If there is no gap it just means the mirror is coated as a front surface mirror. Does not mean it is a 2-way mirror.
ReplyDeletehaters gonna hate! forget them! thanks, kali! :)
ReplyDelete:) thanks Lorraine!
Deletewell thats assuming dont put it on the other side of the glass!! so its 2 way with the gap
