Gossip

I have no respect for justice. I break hearts and ruin lives. I am cunning, malicious and gather strength with age. The more I am quoted, the more I am believed. I flourish at every level of society. My victims are helpless. They cannot protect themselves against me because I have no name and no face. To track me down is impossible. The harder you try, the more elusive I become. I am nobody's friend. Once I tarnish a reputation, it is never the same. I topple governments and wreck marriages. I ruin careers and cause sleepless nights, heartaches and indigestion. I spawn suspicion and generate grief. I make innocent people cry in their pillows. Even my name hisses. I am called GOSSIP . Office gossip- Shop gossip- Party gossip- Telephone gossip. I make headlines and headaches....

DENMARK is a shame!

Image
Denmark is a big shame!!! The sea is stained in red and in the mean while it’s not because of the climate effects of nature. It's because of the cruelty that the human beings (civilised human) kill hundreds of the famous and intelligent Calderon dolphins. This happens every year in Feroe Island in Denmark. In this slaughter the main participants are young teens. WHY? To show that they are adults and mature .... BULLLLsh$%^&* In this big celebration, nothing is missing for the fun. Everyone is participating in one way or the other, killing or looking at the cruelty “supporting like a spectator” Is it necessary to mention that the dolphin Calderon, like all the other species of dolphins, it’s near instinction and they get near men to play and interact. In a way of PURE friendship! They don’t die instantly; they are cut 1, 2 or 3 times with thick hocks. And at that time the dolphins produce a grim extremely compatible with the cry of a new born chil

Three Keys To Successful Living

“Many people feel as if they have lost the key to getting what they want in life -- meaning, happiness, success, peace, security. They have been trudging and toiling at length but feel as if they are locked out of that place they really want to be. They think, "If only I had the key to a whole and happy life!" …” A funny story tells about three high school seniors who went to New York for their senior trip. When they arrived in the city, they went immediately to one of the finest hotels and registered for a room. They were assigned a room on the 30th floor. After settling in, they decided to go see the sights. They toured Manhattan, the Empire State Building, Wall Street and the Statue of Liberty. They finally returned to their hotel utterly exhausted. When they asked the desk clerk for the key to their room, he said, "I am sorry, the elevators are not running." He told them that they could either wait or use the stairway. The thought of a soft bed was irresis

FAITH

Image
This is 'Faith' This dog was born on Christmas Eve in the year 2002. He was born with 3 legs - 2 healthy hind legs and 1 abnormal front leg which need to be amputated. He of course could not walk when he was born. Even his mother did not want him. His first owner also did not think that he can survive. Therefore, he was thinking of 'putting him to sleep'. By this time, his present owner, Jude Stringfellow, met him and wanted to take care of him. She is determined to teach and train this dog to walk by himself. Therefore she named him 'Faith'. In the beginning, she put Faith on a surfing board to let him feel the movements. Later she used peanut butter on a spoon as a lure and reward for him to stand up and jump around. Even the other dog at home also helped to encourage him to walk. Amazingly, only after 6 months, like a miracle, Faith learned to balance on his 2 hind legs and jumped to move forward.  After further training in the snow, he now c

Why should the wedding ring be worn on the fourth finger?

Image
There is a beautiful and convincing explanation given, though many Legends existed... * Thumb represents your Parents * Second (Index) finger represents your Siblings * Middle finger represents your-Self * Fourth (Ring) finger represents your Life Partner * and the Last (Little) finger represents your children Firstly, open your palms (face to face), bend the middle fingers and hold them together - back to back. Secondly, open and hold the remaining three fingers and the thumb - tip to tip (as shown in the pic above). Now, try to separate your thumbs (representing the parents)..., they will open, because your parents are not destined to live with you lifelong, and have to leave you sooner or later. Please join your thumbs as before and separate your Index fingers (representing siblings)... ., they will also open, because your brothers and sisters will have their own families and will have to lead their own separate lives. Now join the Index fingers and separate your Li

Keep on knocking. Keep on asking. Keep on seeking.

When Colonel Harland Sanders retired at the age of 65, he had little to show for himself, except an old Caddie roadster, a $105 monthly pension check, and a recipe for chicken. Knowing he couldn't live on his pension, he took his chicken recipe in hand, got behind the wheel of his van, and set out to make his fortune. His first plan was to sell his chicken recipe to restaurant owners, who would in turn give him a residual for every piece of chicken they sold--5 cents per chicken. The first restaurateur he called on turned him down. So did the second. So did the third. In fact, the first 1008 sales calls Colonel Sanders made ended in rejection. Still, he continued to call on owners as he traveled across the USA, sleeping in his car to save money. Prospect number 1009 gave him his first "yes." After two years of making daily sales he had signed up a total of five restaurants. Still the Colonel pressed on, knowing that he had a great chicken recipe and that someday

The Starfish

Once upon a time there was a wise man who used to go to the ocean to do his writing. He had a habit of walking on the beach before he began his work. One day he was walking along the shore. As he looked down the beach, he saw a human figure moving like a dancer. He smiled to himself to think of someone who would dance to the day. So he began to walk faster to catch up. As he got closer, he saw that it was a young man and the young man wasn't dancing, but instead he was reaching down to the shore, picking up something and very gently throwing it into the ocean. As he got closer he called out, "Good morning! What are you doing?" The young man paused, looked up and replied, "Throwing starfish in the ocean."   "I guess I should have asked, why are you throwing starfish in the ocean?" "The sun is up, and the tide is going out. And if I don't throw them in they'll die." "But, young man, don't you realize that there are mi

Happiness Tip: YOU DON'T NEED TO CHANGE YOURSELF

Who you are is already amazing, wonderful and brilliant. You just may not realise it yet. But you are already here. Your efforts to 'improve' yourself are unnecessary; like polishing a raindrop, or spraying perfume on a rose. You are already here.  Your idea of the world is just an idea. Your idea of yourself is just an idea. Your ideas of what should be changed about yourself are just ideas. Unhappiness is the result of ideas about ideas. But you are not these ideas. When you recognize this, you can stop identifying with the ideas, and relax. Who you really are has been waiting to emerge. It may be helpful to change some of what you do (E.g. what you focus on, what you say to yourself etc) but you don't need to change yourself. ____________________ FORWARDED by Jamie

Are you a Facebook addict?

MANILA - Facebook users beware. Psychologists are now probing a new kind of addiction called Facebook Addiction Disorder (FAD). Psychologist Dr. Michael Fenichel, who has published numerous writings on FAD online, describes it as a situation in which Facebook usage "overtakes" daily activities like waking up, getting dressed, using the telephone, or checking e-mail. "The amazing thing is that, like cellphones, nobody seems to notice the vast amount of time and energy - at work, at home, and now while on the move - people are devoting to Facebook. It has become a given," Fenichel writes in an online post titled "Facebook Addiction Disorder- A New Challenge?" FAD could be classified under the more broad "internet addiction disorder" or internet overuse. Academic papers have already posed theories on internet addiction and social networking addiction, and even less, cellphone addiction. "Like most activities, moderation and integrat

TO ALL PINOY KIDS WHO WERE BORN IN THE 50's, 60's, 70's and early 80's

First, some of us survived being born to mothers who did not have an OB-Gyne , smoked and/or drank San Miguel Beer or Syoktong , while they carried us. The manghihilot was the cheapest way to deliver babies. Dinala ka ba ng nanay mo sa pediatrician for DPT ?  While pregnant, they took cold or cough medicine, cortal or medicol, ate isaw, and didn't worry about diabetes or cervical cancer. Then after all that trauma, our baby cribs were made of hard wood covered with lead-based paints, pati na yung walker (andador) natin, matigas na kahoy or rattan at wala pang gulong. We had no soft cushy cribs that play music, no disposable diapers ( lampin lang), (noon cloth or rattan duyan lang tied to the posts or ceiling, babies fell asleep sa sobrang hilo ) and when we rode our bikes , we had no helmets, no kneepads , sometimes wala pang preno yung bisikleta . Take-out food was limited to Ongpin's pansit or Aling Toyang's pre-cooked ulam in kalderos. No pizza shops,

Beyond Distraction

Distractions only have the power that you give them. To avoid being overpowered by distractions, see them for what they are. What is it that resonates with your passion and fires up your positive enthusiasm? Whatever it is, that's the thing to focus upon.   When something interrupts your focus, don't fight it. Simply notice it, quickly decide whether it is worth any more of your precious attention, and if not, peacefully let it go. Don't get angry or resentful that the distraction happened, and don't become obsessed with something that really doesn't matter. Just take a deep breath, smile as you remember your purpose, and move on. You don't have to be dragged this way and that by random events and circumstances. You can easily stay clearly focused on your dreams, your goals and your intentions.   Your thoughts are yours to choose, and your attention is yours to allocate. Decide to give your attention to those things that matter most, and move purpos

No Time

Image
I knelt to pray but not for long, I had too much to do. I had to hurry and get to work, For bills would soon be due. So I knelt and said a hurried prayer, And jumped up off my knees, My christian duty now is done, My soul could rest at ease. All day long I had no time To spread a word of cheer No time to speak of Christ to friends They'd laugh at me I'd fear. No Time, No Time... Too much to do, That was my constant cry. No Time to give to souls in need, But at last the time... Time to die. I went before the Lord, I came...stood with downcast eyes. For in His hands, He held a book, It was the Book of Life. God looked into His book and said, "Your name I cannot find... I once was going to write it down... But never found the time." ______________________ Forwarded by Digie Salamat

Eid Al Fitr

Image
Eid is an Arabic word meaning “festivity”, while Fitr means “to break the fast”; and so the holiday symbolises the breaking of the fasting period. It is celebrated starting on the first day of the Islamic month of Shawwal and upon sighting of the new crescent moon which signals the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan. . It is a joyous occasion for all Muslims. It is a time when Muslims give thanks for the blessings they have received from Allah, celebrated the victory of the forces of good over evil, and forgive their neighbours for old grudges and ill feelings. It is also a time for spreading peace, sharing with others and giving thanks for completing another period of fasting for the month of Ramadan. Eid Mubarak!

Stroke Signs

Image
STROKE IDENTIFICATION: During a BBQ, a friend stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) she said she had just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes. They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food. While she appeared a bit shaken up, Ingrid went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening. Ingrid's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00 PM Ingrid passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Ingrid would be with us today. Some don't die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead. Blood Clots/Stroke . . STROKE: Remember the 1st Three Letters.... S.T.R. A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the p

Beyond Circumstances:

Attitude Makes the Difference, by Rubel Shelly Many things about your life boil down to the hand you have been dealt. You can't change the fact that you were born in that place and with certain givens for your appearance, IQ, or physical skills. Education and training can open some doors for you, but they cannot change your past, make you taller and more athletic, or alter the fact that some people are unfair in the way they treat you. In spite of the fact that all of us know that most of our life circumstances are beyond our control, we are all still tempted to fret and complain about things that cannot be changed. Of course they cause distress. They certainly put us at a disadvantage in certain contexts. They mustn't be allowed to define and limit us. The people who do best with life move beyond the temptation to whine and feel sorry for themselves. They face the disappointment and move beyond it. They acknowledge the bad break and look for a way to turn it around. They

Look How Blessed We Are

Image
May this NOT come to you as a SURPRISE... IT IS REAL! have them living around us and in our neighborhood TODAY! we can change it with PRAYERS, and always lending a helping hand to those in need. dont keep this for yourself... FORWARD it to your friends, so our friends and all people will THANK GOD for the food and water that they ALREADY HAVE. This is one more reason why we have to THANK GOD for the food that we can have easily. But in the other hand... ironically. we still WASTE the food that we buy. LET US ALL BE GRATEFUL for what WE HAVE today... We are so BLESSED for the wonderful works of GOD's HANDS in our life. just think of this. . . arent we fortunate to live in this part of the world and not on their side? how many food have we wasted? when it doesnt matched your tastebuds... what did you do? the water is pouring out from the faucet... who cares? its unlimited, BOTTOMLESS... right?!? I pray that this little boy be ALLEVIATED from his suffering... . . and hope
